Dubai: Kevin Pietersen made the day of a group of street cricketers in Dubai by pulling over and joining in their game.

The Delhi Daredevils skipper posted two videos on Instagram of him batting on Tuesday with the Burj Khalifa and Business Bay looming in the background.

The former England cricketer is back in the emirate after the India leg of the IPL.

Perhaps he felt he needed the practice, after the Daredevils finished bottom of the IPL standings without a win after leaving the UAE.

Pietersen’s Instagram post read: “I saw these guys playing on the side of the rd in #mydubai this evening and I really wanted to go play with them, so we stopped and I walked out and spent 5mins batting.

“I will never forget the faces on these guys. Such lovely people & v v good too! I’ve always wanted to do this and today I did...this made me smile so much! Hope you guys like this short video!”

Pietersen recently launched his own academy in the emirate during the chunk of the IPL that was held in the UAE.

He was unceremoniously dumped by England after the Ashes series in Australia this winter, following claims from captain Alastar Cook he had a divisive impact on the dressing room.
