Dubai: Ravindra Jadeja, the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder, has been growing his moustache to prove that his is better in this department than Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Shikhar Dhawan.

“We are both growing our moustaches and let us see who wins in the end,” he remarked proudly after a recent Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match in Dubai.

Dhawan loves twirling his moustache after great knocks, while Jadeja has been shaping his to make it as attractive as possible.

Apart from his fondness for a moustache, Jadeja has also a deep love for horses. During the Amity University meet-and-greet function with students last week, Jadeja was asked by one student about this passion. “I love horses and whenever I go back home I spend time with my horses. As soon as I reach home, I throw down my bags and go straight go to the farm house and spend time with my horses,” he said.

Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni used the opportunity to remind Jadeja that bikes (which are Dhoni’s favourite) are better than horses: “I have been trying to convince him that bikes are better. It is very simple — you can park the bikes in the garage. Any breed of horses you have to feed them every day and it is not like a bike where you need to fill them up with petrol only when you have to go out. Unfortunately Jadeja does not understand this, as people have their own preferences in life,” said Dhoni.

When Jadeja was asked the names of his four horses, he said: “Dhanraj, Ganga, Kaiser and Janaki. I want to buy four more horses because eight is my lucky number and so I need to keep a least eight horses in my farm house.”

Dhoni once again interrupted to remind Jadeja that “With the same amount of money, I can buy four bikes and I don’t have to feed them.”

Jadeja also unwinds after matches by recalling his past performances. “I unwind thinking about my previous performances like batting and bowling where I did well in the past games. I keep thinking about those and try and be positive and, whenever I go on to the field, I look up at the sky and ask God to please help me out.”
