Dubai: Parthiv Patel and AB De Villiers were the heroes as Royal Challengers Bangalore eased to a 7 wicket victory over Mumbai Indians at Dubai Cricket Stadium.

The opener cracked  57 off 45  balls while the South African hit 45 off 48 in a match-winning partnership.

None of the Mumbai batsmen were able to really get going in the first innings after they were put in by Bangalore, Ambati Rayudu top scoring with 35 from 37 balls in a total of 115/9.

Elsewhere, it was bits and pieces stuff, including 18 from Corey Anderson, 17 from Aditya Tare and 16 from Michael Hussey.

The pick of the bowlers were Yuzvendra Chahal and Ashok Dinda, who took 2/17 and 1/14 respectively from their allotted four overs.

There were also 2 wickets apiece for Mitchell Starc and Varun Aaron.

The Bangalore reply was equally stagnated, caused mainly by Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh, heroes of their opening victory, falling for ducks in the same Zaheer Khan over.

AB de Villiers came in and steadied the ship alongside opener Pathiv, who hung around to watch the Zaheer carnage at the other end.

And it was this pair, with Parthiv to the fore, who took the game away from Mumbai, victory eventually came in the 18thover.
