Singer turned actor Haroon Shahid may not have benefitted from the lukewarm response to his debut film Verna, but it is clear that he isn’t the reason why the film has been panned by critics.

In fact, he is utterly believable as the emotionally insecure and physically challenged husband to Mahira Khan’s character. And he must be commended for accepting a role like this as his launch pad.

At the recently concluded Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week, Shahid drew a lot of cheers from the audience as he walked the runway for the show’s finale, flanked by a bevy of top-league fashion designers like HSY, Kamiar Rokini, Maheen Kardar, and Rana Nouman.

Sporting a burgundy, self-printed sherwani and trousers to match, Shahid strode elegantly past the garishly dressed models who were plugged at different points on the ramp, lipsynching to his chartbusting track Sambhal Sambhal Ke. His performance brought a lively close to an otherwise dull show.
