The 2016 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is scheduled to be held on April 3 at the Sakhir race track in Bahrain. The race on Sunday starts at 7pm (UAE time).

1. About the Bahrain GP



The Bahrain GP is the second race of the 2016 Formula One season. The first race was held at this race track in 2004 and it was the first Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East winning FIA recogniton for the 'Best Organised Grand Prix' for that year.

2. Hamilton Hattrick

If Lewis Hamilton wins the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2016, it would be for the third consecutive time.

For the complete time sheet of the qualifiers, see our story here. Hamilton qualified and secured the pole for Mercedes at one minute 29.493 seconds which is the fastest lap at the Sakhir circuit. His team-mate Nico Rosberg was close behind at a gap of 0.077 seconds.

4. The circuit

The Bahrain International Circuit for the Grand Prix is 5.412 kilometres long. Total race distance is just over 308 kilometers with a total of 57 laps of the circuit. It has two DRS (drag reduction system) zones. 

5. Top 8 qualifiers (Q3)



The top eight qualifiers at the end of Saturday's qualifiers are Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas and Nico Hulkenberg.
