Amazon is developing a biopic TV series based on a memoir by former roadie and Jerry Garcia’s manager, Steve Parish

Amazon is working on a streaming TV series that tells the story of the Grateful Dead. The series will be based on Home Before Daylight: My Life on the Road With the Grateful Dead, a 2003 memoir written by Steve Parish, one of the band’s longtime roadies. According to reports in Deadline, Grateful Dead singer Bob Weir will executive produce and oversee the show’s music. No writer has been announced.
Home Before Daylight documents Parish’s time as a member of the Grateful Dead’s family, starting with his roadie work and moving on to his time as Jerry Garcia’s manager. Attempts to adapt the book for the screen were first made in 2008, with Weir as musical director, before the project was stalled.
The Grateful Dead celebrated their 50th year together in 2015, returning to the stage for several Fare Thee Well concerts in California and Chicago.
