Hair is an essential part of anyone’s appearance and how you wear your hair makes a big difference to your overall presentation. Hence, it is
extremely important to take care of it. I am very particular about my haircare routine. Once a month I go for a protein treatment to Juice hair salon. If I am unable to go, then I use a home-made oil to nourish my hair. This is a mixture of almond, olive and coconut oil. I wash my hair twice a week with Kiehl‘s Sunflower colour preserving shampoo and conditioner. Every time I wash my hair I style it with either John Frieda Frizz-ease spray for a natural wavy look or blow dry it with Lubi 2800 turbo hairdryer.

For my haircare I keep it quite simple.  I love Aveda products but they are not available in the Middle East, so when I go to London I stock up on their styling products and conditioners.  I have been using Kiehl’s Amino Acid shampoo for many years; I love the smell of it and I feel the product is amazing.  There is one product that I absolutely cannot live without — Kiehl’s Creme with Silk Groom. I’ve been using it since I was 18.  It’s a leave-in conditioner with a bit of hold so I use it for nourishment and styling.  I also really love Kerastase products, their serums and treatments are the best. Kerastase also do amazing anti-hair loss treatments, which are highly effective.

My favourite haircare product is the Pantene Pro-V shampoo. I’ve used it ever since I was born. It revitalises and protects my hair so there’s never a dull strand. L’Oreal hair serums keep my hair nourished and make it look uber-shiny. From time to time, I like to go natural and apply a combination of henna, herbs and fruits on my hair including key ingredients such as avocadoes, bananas as well as olive oil. This keeps my hair healthy and is a good break from everyday harsh hair styling routines we indulge in. A haircare tip that I personally live by — make sure you trim the ends of your hair at least once every other month. The ends of your hair have suffered in the harsh environment we live in — scorching sunlight, chlorinated water, dust and sand.

My hair has literally been through it all. It has had bad keratin treatments, been bleached blonde, changed from striped to orange, been processed and coloured — literally everything. People always ask me how my hair looks so healthy after all of this, and the truth is, it’s not an illusion. Healthy hair starts with a healthy routine.
I am constantly doing what I can to make sure my hair gets the love it needs. I absolutely swear by the Dove deep nourishing hair mask, Frederic Fekkai silky straight ironless hair serum, and Pantene classic care leave-in conditioner. I am also obsessed with the Braun Satin Hair 7 straightener. This tool is amazing for everyday styling because for one, it’s ionic so it really helps fight frizz and create shiny, healthy hair. I take it with me everywhere.

Hair is a very important aspect of a well-groomed man, but I really don’t believe in overdoing it. A little goes a long way. As far as my hair is concerned I wash it twice a day with Kiehl’s ultimate thickening shampoo, and a few times a week I use Dermalogica shine therapy shampoo and conditioner. It reminds me of a spa experience, and is very invigorating. Once a week I make it a point to have an almond oil Indian head massage. There are few pleasures in this world like it — absolute bliss.

To keep your hair looking healthy and shiny is quite a challenge in Dubai so I try to take care of my hair with a wide range of products. There’s Kerastase Bain Age Recharge, which instantly restores vitality and takes special care of the scalp, followed by the Kerastase Masquintense, quite a thick mask for dry hair. I use this twice a week at home or at the salon. Just like your skin your hair also needs special care when you sleep, so I recommend the Serum Nuit from Kerastase. Just a few pumps is all you need to wake up with beautiful shiny hair.

I have been using the L’Oreal Smooth Intense hair serum for a long time. It smoothens out frizz and smells great. I use it after my shower and apply it to the roots; it also helps detangle with minimum breakage. If I have an event or party to go to I like my hair big and bouncy — my favourite shampoo, which gives me strength and volume, is Lush’s Big Shampoo. It has sea salt, seaweed, lemon and lime juice that transforms dull hair into silky shiny hair. For daily use I like Clear anti-dandruff shampoo — it clears dandruff and is a great solution for itchy scalp. When I don’t have time to shampoo my hair, Expert Dry Shampoo by Boots is a life saver. When it comes to haircare at home, nothing is better than coconut and castor oil. But since my hair is colour treated, I opt for Oribe’s Masque for Beautiful Colour. Not only is it rich in conditioning, it also contains colour-guarding ingredients that are meant to keep the hair vibrant.
