“The best charity is that given in Ramadan,” said Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

With about a week or so left for the end of Ramadan, there is still time to make a difference.

All you have to do is head over to your favourite mall in the UAE and contribute to charitable organisations such as the Dar Al Ber Society, Emirates Red Crescent, Rashid Paediatric Hospital and Make a Difference Campaign.

Here are a few malls where you can donate.

1. Ibn Battuta Mall

Head over to Ibn Battuta Mall’s China and Tunisia Courts where Dar Al Ber Society has set up giant donation boxes. Visitors are encouraged to contribute books, shoes, clothes and money during the holy month.

“Ramadan is a time for giving,” says Omar Khoury, Director of Nakheel Malls. “We are proud to bring this initiative to our flagship mall and hope our tenants and customers will join us in helping those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Collected items will be distributed to those in need across the UAE.

2. Majid Al Futtaim’s Malls

Visit any of Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping malls across the UAE to participate in its 10th annual Make a Difference Ramadan Campaign in partnership with the UAE’s Red Crescent Society. People can donate toys, clothes and books to those in need across the region.

“We have been a proud partner of Majid Al Futtaim’s Make a Difference campaign for the past ten consecutive years,” says Mohammad Abdullah Al Haj Al Zarouni, Manager of Red Crescent UAE. “It is a truly inspiring initiative that captures the Ramadan spirit of giving and compassion each year and we hope this year will see the highest number of donations to date.”

Donation boxes are located at City Centre Ajman, City Centre Deira, City Centre Fujairah, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Me’aisem, City Centre Al Shindagha, City Centre Sharjah, My City Centre Nasseriya and all the four Matajer malls in Sharjah.

Additional collection points include participating locations of Carrefour, Magic Planet, Ski Dubai and Vox Cinemas.

3. Mercato Mall

Enjoy your shopping trip to Mercato Mall and at the same time donate to children at Rashid Paediatric Hospital.

Apply henna at the mall’s henna tent where all proceeds will be donated to the hospital. The tent is open from 6pm to 10pm daily.

Or join in the fun by donating Dh25 to participate in its Guess and Win Competition, where you need to guess the value of items in a hamper that are worth thousands of dirhams. The person who guesses the closest value to the actual cost will win the hamper on the last day of Eid Al Fitr.

4. Yas Mall

Yas Mall has partnered with Emirates Red Crescent to host a month-long donations campaign for those in need. Visitors can drop off toys and clothes at a donation booth located on Level LG, near GéantHypermarket.

This year, Yas Mall has a variety of cultural and religious activities that can be enjoyed by families and communities throughout the month, with extended opening hours from 10am to 12am.
