After a couple of weeks at an idyllic tropical island, I was back into work mode feeling rested and refreshed. But, long flights, late nights, spending hours in chlorinated swimming pools and prolonged sun exposure took its toll my skin, looking dull and dry. To heal my skin from the present damage, I headed to Raffles Spa.
From the moment I walked in, the spa — located on the fourth floor of Raffles Dubai — impressed. Done in wood, stones and muted tones, the interiors put me at ease instantly, while the mood lighting and the soft music set the perfect tone for an afternoon of pampering and relaxation.
After slipping into a robe, my therapist, Ayu, assessed my skin condition, pointing out the dry and dehydrated areas that needed special attention. She also advised me to go for a deep cleansing, facial, designed to offer the skin a quick lift and restore the PH balance. She quickly got to work with a range of products from Kerstin Florian.
The 60-minute treatment kicked off with a gentle cleansing, followed by an application of exfoliation peel to renew the skin. Ayu applied it on my face with a brush and left it on for ten minutes under steam to nourish the skin. Next was a gentle extraction and a face massage with oil infused with neroli, a fragrant orange extract, to promote blood circulation. She wrapped up the treatment with a therapeutic algae gel mask rich with Vitamin A and E.
Did it work? My skin looked clear, supple and refreshed. One week on, and I’m still looking fresh and my skin is glowing with a natural radiance.
