How to get seven free meals at Address Hotels

We’re not kidding — the hotel group will give diners seven meals, one at each of seven restaurants — all you have to do is eat (and pay) at each of the seven before May 31. It’s part of the ‘Dine and Delight’ promotion, which also gives diners complimentary drinks after dinner at The Address Hotels + Resorts lounges (there’s a required spend). Outlets include Hukama’s Chinese set menu, Dh400, giving a drink at Neos and a set menu for Dh300 at Fazaris and a drink at Calabar, both at The Address Downtown Dubai. At The Address Dubai Mall, spend Dh200 at Na3Na3’s dinner buffet or Ember Grill & Lounge then head to Cabana. Spend over Dh390 on a la carte at Thai restaurant Thiptara in The Palace Downtown Dubai, and continue your evening at FAI; or Dh200 at Nineteen in The Address Montgomerie Dubai. Finally, spend Dh200 at Mazina, The Address Dubai Marina, on two or more courses of global a la carte cuisine, to head to Blends overlooking Dubai Marina. Visit theaddress.com

Easter shopping at Atlantis

Whether you celebrate with cruller (Germany), tsoureki (Greece), ensaymada (Spain) or Russian kulich, the Easter Shop at the Palm Hotel has everything you need for the festival. Chocolate, of course, is central, with cookies, chocolate Easter eggs and bunnies in all shapes and sizes, including a giant one and a two-metre-long chocolate egg maze. Open daily, 10am-9pm from Friday until April 2. For more chocolate, Guinness World Record holder Mirco Della Viecha will be carving around 800 kilograms of chocolate daily at the Poseidon Court.

Comptoir, Puranmal open on in Jumeirah

If you find yourself on Jumeirah Beach Road, you’ve got some new dining options. Comptoir 102, which until now has been selling chic homewares, is set to open its cafe in the next few days, with US chef Chris Clark visiting to train the kitchen in healthy dishes — he’s formerly of Triopetra Yoga Retreat in Crete, Greece. Call 04-3854555. If pure vegetarian Indian cuisine takes your fancy, you’ll be glad to know that Puranmal — they of the addictive samosas — have finally opened an outlet that’s not in the Bur Dubai heartland. Their restaurant, Vega, on Jumeirah Beach Road, is part cafe, part sweet shop and part art gallery. Traditional Indian sweets are covered with chocolate for a new twist, while vegetarian food from different cuisines is served alongside pottery, paintings, rare furniture pieces and other art. “We see many art forms are slowly dying out in most parts of the world and unless we do something, they could be lost to our future generations. This is our humble attempt at preserving dying forms from different corners of the globe, ” said Abdul Sami, a partner in the art gallery.
