Dubai: The UAE Consulate General to Milan and the Expo 2020 Dubai team has observed and examined how the Milan team is preparing to hold the World Expo in 2015.

Noura Mohammad Juma, the UAE Consulate General to Milan, along with representatives from the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, Dubai Police, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Municipality and the Expo 202 Dubai Bureau recently met with counterparts from the Milan team, according to an Expo 2020 Dubai statement.

“I am pleased to join the Expo 2020 Dubai team and share the cultural exchange of knowledge and goodwill between the two World Expo host cities,” Noura said in the statement.

The Dubai team, according to the statement, was given an early look at the strategies, priorities, challenges and remedial measures put in place for the Italian edition next year.

“The road to a successful Expo in Dubai includes meeting with former Expo cities and planners to ensure we are aware of all of the operational challenges that we may encounter,” said Reem Al Hashimy, the UAE’s Minister of State and Managing Director of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau.

In November 2013, Dubai won the right to host the 2020 World Expo.
