Defending champions Royal maintained a steady course with a 4-1 win over Al Burkan to enter the quarter-finals of the Second Sharjah Ramadan Football Championship (SRFC) being held at the Sharjah Sports Club.

Playing cellar-placed Al Burkan, it was Brazilian Alex Diaz scoring a fine hat-trick that distanced the two teams within the opening few minutes, while Ahmad Yousuf scored one for the defending champions towards the end. Nasser Subait pulled one back for Al Burkhan, and had it not been for goalkeeper Mohammad Hussain, the scoreline could have been much higher in favour of the Royal team. Diaz’s hat-trick took the Brazilian’s personal tally to six goals and at the top of the individual scoring chart.

Al Watania, meanwhile, secured a 3-0 win to seal Al Bahri’s fate in the second match. Brazilian Katella Camacho got the scoring under way, while Omar Karmastaji made it 2-0 for Al Watania and Ahmad Abdullah put it out of reach for Al Bahri at half-time. The second half was barren and despite all efforts both teams failed to get past the goalkeepers paving Al Watania’s march into the last eight stages.

Sport For All was the third team winning with a 3-0 result against Al Alami and top Group 2. Abdullah Al Ansari put Sport For All ahead in the seventh minute for a 1-0 lead at half-time. Hesham Al Montaser then finally found the goal twice within minutes to seal an emphatic 3-0 win.

Saeed Obaid scored a fine hat-trick to lead La Magica to a 5-1 win over CR7 in the last match of the night. Leading 3-0 at half-time on Obaid’s three goals, La Magica added another two through Mohammad Hilal and Eisa Gulam, while Eisa Mohammad pulled a consolation goal for CR7.
