How do you feel after winning the title?
I'm very happy about the way things turned out! I stayed confident and positive as all beauty queens should, but I wasn't expecting to get a place as far as I did - especially because I am very new to the pageant world. This is the first time I have ever joined a beauty pageant or anything of the sort. I have never modeled or done anything for TV, and so everything was very new to me. I was a girl watching these women on TV and I never imagined that I would be one of them one day.
It's a huge honour to be part of Binibining Pilipinas and it has been a wonderful learning experience so far. I am loving my job and there is no place I would rather be! I want to use my title and my story to inspire other dreamers and believers.
I dedicate this win to my mother, who raised me independently. She is a single mom who taught me to be an independent woman who values her intelligence and integrity. She gave me the strength and confidence to join the pageant.
What was your edge over other candidates?
Although it may seem like something negative, I think my edge over other candidates is that I am very new to the pageant world. Having done nothing like this before, I like to think I have a new and fresh perspective. I was very involved in school and sports and for that reason I also like to think I offer a modern twist to being a beauty queen.
What’s next for you?
I am very much looking forward to the training that I will receive from Binibining Pilipinas. I am excited to learn and I know that there is so much to look forward to! After my reign, I want to complete my college degree and perhaps try my shot at acting or hosting. I was part of the drama team in my school and maybe I can pursue that activity more in the future.
I am open to the idea of joining Binibining Pilipinas once again in the future. I have one year to think about it.
What’s your most memorable experience in Binibining Pilipinas?
My most memorable experience in Binibining Pilipinas is the trip we took as candidates to a GK site. We were able to read stories and play games with the children. We interacted with the people there and learned some of their stories. It was a nice environment to be in and I can't wait to do similar activities with Binibining Pilipinas in the future.
Any plans of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry?
I'm open to all ideas! I enjoying acting and hosting, so we'll see!
Your new title aside, do you still feel any insecurity?
I'm a human being and so of course I have my insecurities. What's important is that you don't let them stop you from reaching our dreams. When you believe in yourself and have confidence in what you do, you will go very far in life. Feel beautiful and beauty will shine out of you.
