James Bond will be reunited with Pussy Galore in a new novel to be published this year.

Anthony Horowitz’s Trigger Mortis features the audacious criminal and “Bond girl,” played in the film Goldfinger by Honor Blackman.

Horowitz follows Sebastian Faulks, Jeffrey Deaver and William Boyd in writing Bond novels authorised by the estate of author Ian Fleming, who died in 1964.

Trigger Mortis is based on an idea by Fleming for a TV programme that was never made.

Horowitz, creator of teenage spy Alex Rider and TV series Foyle’s War, said on Thursday that “it was always my intention to go back to the true Bond, which is to say, the Bond that Fleming created.”

The novel is due out in September from Orion in Britain and Harper Collins in the US.
