A Dubai theatre group, with a penchant for the Italian language, will adapt the 2012 black comedy film It’s a Disaster in Italian on May 27 and 28 at The Junction, Al Serkal Avenue.
Called Che Disastro!, the play will be set during one of the legendary Dubai brunches, and will feature five Italian couples as they go through a twist and turns of emotions and revelations.
DramaDonne, the not-for-profit theatre group, which stages predominantly Italian plays in Dubai, is staging the production.
“The adaptation of the script was focused on keeping the truthfulness of all the characters more than the linguistic turn and transposition from the screen to the play,” said Michela Contini, the director. “The audience will still find the cynic, ironic and neurotics colour in the original Italian twist.”
