Quebec-based troupe Cirque Eloize returns to the UAE this September with its latest production, Cirkopolis.

Between September 17-19, the production will be at Abu Dhabi’s du Forum, and between September 23-26, it will be at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Cirkopolis is Cirque Eloize’s ninth original production, co-directed by Dave St-Pierre and Jeannot Painchaud. It brings together ten rebellious acrobats and multidisciplinary artists living in a factory-city called Cirkopolis, and follows their journey as they break boundaries and reinvent themselves, overcoming the gloominess that surrounds them. The show boasts an original musical score and video projections, bringing a colourful world of fantasy to life.

Cirkopolis was imagined as a crossroads — between imagination and reality, between individuality and community, between limits and possibilities”, said Cirque Eloize artistic director Painchaud in a press release. “The show is driven by the poetic impulse of life, the physical prowess of the circus and its humour, at once serious and light-hearted. Entering Cirkopolis is all about letting go and allowing yourself to be borne aloft by hope.”
