The Dubai International Art Centre (DIAC) will present the 62nd edition of its annual Members Art Exhibition and Awards Ceremony on November 4 at Gallery 76, in Jumeirah. The event, which opens at 6.30pm and includes a barbeque, is open to the public.

The DIAC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the cultural and creative enrichment of the local community by nurturing and promoting local artists and engaging art lovers with art and cultural activities. It was founded in 1976 by a group of Dubai-based artists and art lovers, and currently has more than 1100 members from 67 nationalities. It is one of the oldest art education centres in Dubai and offers more than 80 different art courses and workshops for all ages and skill levels. It also hosts exhibitions by members and other artists.

The exhibition will showcase original works by members who include established and amateur artists and students from the various art courses conducted by DIAC. The artworks include sculptures, oil and water colour paintings, drawings, pastels, and mixed media works. Prizes will be given to the best works, selected by a panel comprising artist Ragini Dewan, Khalil Abdul Wahid, artist and visual arts manager at Dubai Culture and Mona Hauser, founder of XVA Gallery.

Sahira Ameen, gallery manager at DIAC says, “We are very pleased with the quality of entries submitted by our members this year. The members exhibition allows for a healthy competition and prizes will be awarded to the most skilled and refined works in every category. Our annual exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for the local arts community to get together and for art lovers to acquire original artworks at reasonable prices.”

The DIAC Members exhibition will run at Gallery 76 at DIAC, on Jumeirah Beach Road, next to Town Centre Mall until November 14.
