Ajman

I am a resident of the Al Karam area in Ajman. There are Municipal dustbins just in front of our building on the Al Nakheel Street. These bins are not covered and it creates a lot of trouble for residents of the area.

On the weekends, the foul smell of the accumulated waste makes it almost impossible to stay within the building premises. On Fridays, since it’s the weekend, the bins get filled up and people are forced to leave trash bags on the floor beside it (as seen in photograph). The breeding of insects, such as flies and mosquitoes, causes a huge health hazard for the members of this community, apart from other environmental issues.

I would like to invite the attention of the authorities towards this issue, which has a great environmental impact. We marked World Environment Day a few days ago, on June 5, and hope to bring a positive change in the world. I hope that the authorities also consider this situation and take the necessary steps for the benefit of the community.

Just as someone rightly said: “It is a healthy environment that creates healthy residents”. We need to join hands and take this small step towards making a huge impact.
