Dubai: A new dollar millionaire has just been declared and this time the award goes to a resident in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmad Alsuhaimi, a Saudi entrepreneur has just become $1 million richer, as he hit the jackpot in Tuesday’s draw of Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire. Like most raffle winners, Alsuhaimi said he was surprised when he received a call from the organisers who delivered the good news.

His lucky ticket no. 1837 in series 247 was picked during the early morning draw at Concourse B, Dubai International Airport.

The latest millionaire regularly buys Dubai Duty Free raffle tickets. He is the seventh Saudi Arabian national to have won $1 million in the promotion.

Another highlight on Tuesday was the draw for a Bentley Continental GT Speed Black Edition, which went to a Pakistani national from Dubai, Ishfaq Ahmed.

Ahmed is the CEO of Globalex Group of Companies. “I couldn’t believe when I’ve heard that the first ticket I ever purchased brought me luck. It is a good start for me to continue participating in the Dubai Duty Free promotions,” Ahmed exclaimed.

Another expatriate who got lucky, C.J. Sebastian, a mechanical engineer from an oil company, won a BMW 750 Li X Drive M Sport. Sebastian is an Indian national based in Fujairah.
