Dubai: Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Hosting the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, chaired the committee’s meeting at Dubai World Financial Centre.

Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Mohammad Ebrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of The Ruler’s Court of Dubai, Deputy Chairman of the committee, Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh attended the meeting, Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office and Chairman of Falcon and Associates and Hilal Saeed Al Marri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre were also in attendance.

This comes in preparation for the meeting of the executive office of The Bureau International des Expositions (International Exhibitions Bureau) scheduled to be held next Thursday in Paris.

The Higher Committee meeting discussed a number of issues related to the dossier which will be presented during the Paris meeting describing Dubai’s potential and preparedness to host Expo 2020 as well as the steps that have been taken to meet the international requirements set by the executive office of the BIE for contesting countries.

Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, member of the committee, would review the report before presenting it to the executive office of the Exhibition Bureau. The report includes a detailed explanation with photos on the state’s preparations for hosting the event making UAE the first country to host Expo 2020 in the Middle East and Africa.
