Reader is worried that a child might fall through the gaping hole in a park’s watch tower’s fence.
A few days ago, we were at Al Mamzar Park in Dubai for a family visit, late in the evening. We are not regular visitors to this park and it was the first time my children went there.
Once done with games and snacks, we were eager to climb a vacated watch tower and head to the top level.
The top level is almost two storeys high. To my shock, we found a gaping hole in the balcony! A young child who just wants to peep through could fall down, if God forbid there were no adults to supervise.
This is a serious hazard and I’ll be really stressed if another day goes by with people accessing the watch tower with the missing planks in the balcony. The first step required is for the watch tower to be sealed immediately and it should remain closed till full repairs are completed.
I hope the concerned authorities will take immediate action before any damage is done.
