After a traditional feast, a family outing to the nearest theatre is just the thing to do on Vishu, Kerala’s new year, celebrated on April 15.

When Malayalis celebrate this festival the world over, Siddique’s Bhaskar The Rascal, hits the screens in Kerala.

This Mammootty film with Nayanthara, who returns to home ground after her last release, Electra, is a family drama with oodles of humour.

Siddique, who has worked with Mammootty in Hitler and Chronic Bachelor, says this is a mature love story.

As you might have guessed by the title, Mammootty is Bhaskar, an uncouth businessman dealing in real estate. He has a little boy played by Master Sanoop.

Nayanthara, who last worked with Siddique in Bodyguard, is Hima, a sophisticated businesswoman, managing a chocolate enterprise. She has a daughter, played by Anita, recently seen as Ajith’s onscreen daughter in Yennai Arindhal.

What happens when the uncouth Bhaskar and the elegant Hima cross paths?

Knowing Siddique, one can look forward to a feast of laughter.
