Some of Paris’ best ballet dancers are back. Following this year’s ballet gala, in which 10 stars of the Opera National de Paris performed, in 2015, 12 soloists will perform from January 8-10 at Madinat Theatre. Returning are two of the Paris Opera’s top dancers, Ludmila Pagliero and Karl Paquette, who will dance a pas de deux from 1965 ballet Notre-Dame-de-Paris. Last year’s show featured both classical and modern pieces; the next edition will feature excerpts from the late Paris Opera Ballet director Rudolf Nureyev’s version of La Bayadere. The costumes are the real deal, directly borrowed from Paris Opera Ballet.
