Westlife, Jessie J, set a date for Dubai
Ballad kings Westlife and UK Brit Award-winner Jessie J are coming to Dubai
We love a man who can keep his promise, and Nicky Byrne of Westlife has done just that.
Byrne of the hugely popular UK boy/man band Westlife has kept his promise to tabloid! and is bringing the boys to Dubai.
"We will be coming to Dubai next year," he said in an exclusive interview with tabloid! in 2010. "We will be planning it into our international dates, all being well."
The Irish ballad kings will perform at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa, with a capacity of around 6,000, on April 14 — a little spooky given the date of their debut Dubai gig was April 14, six years ago.
And it's a Brit invasion as tabloid! can also reveal UK Brit Award-winner Jessie J is currently packing her suitcase for a trip to the UAE. The Price Tag singer performs at Meydan on Saturday as the grand finale for the Dubai World Cup, the world's richest horse race.
Westlife have established themselves as one of the world's biggest boy bands thanks to hits such as Swear It Again, Unbreakable, Flying Without Wings and World of Our Own.
Byrne, who is joined by Shane Filan, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan, who make up the group, told tabloid! "Dubai is a very exciting place and it has always been up there on our list of places to perform."
Jessie J — along with her big voice and equally big attitude — will perform alongside superstar DJ Seb Fontaine. Those with tickets to the races can enjoy the concert for free.
Tickets for the DWC, priced from Dh350, are available at meydan.ae or by calling 04-3272110.
Tickets to catch Westlife, priced Dh250, Dh450 (VIP), are due to go on sale today at boxofficeme.com and Virgin Megastores.
