It’s summer time and the music is fine! We love summer anthems and have scoured the charts to find the tunes of the season, selecting 10 songs that you’ll be dancing, driving and singing to this year.

1. Chasing the Sun, The Wanted

The name says it all, and the Brit boy band’s pop tune is fast-paced, but not quite club-tastic. We’ll be playing it while we get ready for a big night out.

2. Best Song Ever, Wallpaper

Fact: put Spanish words in a song and it’s an instant summer classic. Mix in lyrics like “best night ever” and an animated video and you have
a techno hit from a hipster.

3. The Only Place, Best Coast

“Why would you live anywhere else? We’ve got the ocean, got the babes, got the
sun, we’ve got the waves… This is the only place for me”. This tune from the laid-back LA surf-pop band could be the UAE’s unofficial national anthem.

4. Whistle, Flo Rida

One listen to this horrendously addictive number one hit from the rapper du jour, and you’ll find yourself whistling it for the rest of the summer. “Whistle while you work it,” says Flo, oh, alright then.

5. Let’s Go, Calvin Harris Feat. Ne-Yo

The video is set in our dream holiday locations, LA, Tokyo and Rio, and this collaboration between the Scottish DJ and R&B crooner is a true
party thumper.

6. The Apple Tree, Nina Nesbitt

She’s just come off tour with Ed Sheeran, and Nina’s distinctly Scottish vocals are the hip new sound of folk. One for a lazy afternoon.

7. The Night Out, Martin Solveig

This Parisian DJ’s new song is so upbeat you can imagine it on a camera advert where good-looking people frolick around giving us life envy.

8. Good Time, Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen

Call Me Maybe was the song of spring, and this good-time collab between Bieber’s muse and folk singer Adam Young (who sounds like Ben Folds Five) is as catchy.

9. Love Sick, Loveable Rogues

This trio were finalists on Britain’s Got Talent, and seeing as they have London swagger and it’s the city’s year, we reckon their cheeky pop song has a well-earned spot on your summer playlist.

10. Spectrum, Florence And The Machine

Is there nothing Florence touches that doesn’t turn gold? This rousing,
orchestral track is a new sound for her (it’s produced by Calvin Harris) and it’s just hit the top spot on the UK charts. “Say my naaaaaame!”
