The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to make UAE debut on February 19.

Classical music festival Dubai Classics will return to Dubai World Trade Centre on February 19 and 20.

The event, held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, will host Britain’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time in the UAE on February 19.

“It’s a real pleasure being invited to perform in Dubai, one of the world’s most innovative cities. The Orchestra has performed on many world stages and I’m sure this experience will be one of the most memorable,” said Ian Maclay, managing director of the Royal Philharmonic. The orchestra will be guided by Italian conductor, Alessandro Fabrizi, who is known for mixing the study of neuroscience with classical music.

Violinist-conductor Vladimir Spivakov, Unesco’s Artist for Peace, will lead the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra on Friday, February 20th.

“In our 35th anniversary year, our world tour will reach more countries and more people than ever before, showcasing the range and beauty of many of our favourite composers, particularly Tchaikovsky,” he said.
