Valentine’s Day in Dubai just got a little sweeter. British singer-songwriter Rita Ora has been confirmed to perform on February 14 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre as part of the two-day RedFestDXB music festival.

The 23-year-old star came onto the scene in 2012 and shot up to No. 1 in the UK with three singles off her debut album Ora, earning her the highest number of No. 1 singles on the UK Singles Chart that year.

She will close the festival with a line-up of Top 40 acts including John Newman, Naughty Boy, A-YO (DJs Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe) and American headliners The Lumineers. On February 13, her fellow UK artists Conor Maynard, Olly Murs, Tine Tempah and DJ Marvin Humes will hit the stage.

In April of last year, the style icon was in the city as part of Karl Lagerfield’s Little Black Jacket exhibition for Chanel and told tabloid! she was working on her upcoming album, which has yet to be released.

“Visiting my country Kosovo and realising what I could do for people literally through a three-minute song, made me look at things differently,” she said.

“I wanted to go back into the studio and make an album based on freedom and characteristics and a voice. And of course my love life.”
