She’s not always there when you call, but she’s always on time - let’s hope the same can be said when Ashanti hits the stage in Dubai on March 21.
The early-noughties R&B sensation and actress, discovered by P. Diddy at 17, will be the third “Chocolate Nights” artist to perform at supperclub this month, following in the steps of Twista (March 7) and Fabolous (March 14). She performed at Cavalli Club last May, and so inspired she was by the city, she even tweeted about the possibility of tattooing one of her song titles, Never Should Have, in Arabic.
Throughout her career, the 33-year-old went from singing back-up for JLo to breaking records in the industry. She’s best known for her fan-favourite hits Foolish, What’s Luv? and Always on Time, which all appeared on the Billboard 100 chart in the US during the same week - something that no other woman performer had accomplished. This had only occurred under the reign of The Beatles before her.
British singer-songwriter Estelle will be the last “Chocolate Nights” performer of the month at supperclub on March 28.
