Kings of Leon (KOL), the critically acclaimed alternative rock band, entertained fans from not only the UAE and the region, but also from around the world during their concert on Saturday. Their set was a part of an all-star line-up for the four-day Yas Island After Race Concerts.
Fans had gathered to be a part of something unique, and they weren't disappointed. The band performed songs mainly from their latest album, Only by the Night, but also included older tracks such as King of the Rodeo and California Waiting.
KOL frontman Caleb Followill and the rest of his bandmates, siblings Nathan (drums) and Jared (bass), along with their cousin Matthew (lead guitar), unleashed a show so full of energy and passion that the crowd responded seemingly as one to their every move.
However, there was one announcement that had everyone buzzing in shock and surprise.
"It's so much fun performing here in Abu Dhabi, we just might come back. This is going to be our last concert in a while, but we hope to be back here soon," Caleb said.
Earlier in the evening, the band received a platinum record from Sony Music Middle East in recognition of the massive sales of their album Only By The Night in the region.
