Dubai- If you’re not taking the end of the world seriously but you’re looking for something fun to do while everyone else is in a panic, we’ve got a couple suggestions for how to spend what could be your last day on earth.
Since it is on a Friday, there really is no point not making the most of it.
If you and your friends are a movie-night kind of bunch, you’re in luck. Hollywood has hypothetically prepared for the end of the world for decades now.
You could invite a couple friends and re-watch your favourite end of the world inspired or post-apocalyptic movies. You might consider labelling your popcorn bowl as ‘the last bowl of popcorn ever.’ Just to get the apocolypse ambience going.

Here are some movie suggestions:

Armageddon (1998) - This movie is an end of the world gold mine, it’s got everything: A big meteor striking earth, young love, astronauts saving the Earth.

2012 (2009) - This movie’s got great scenes of every nook and cranny of the world being wiped out by natural disasters with hauntingly realistic special effects. It will definitely have you poking out your window to see if the world has ended.

Independence Day (1996) - This movie is a slightly satirical take on an alien invasion that will end earth. It’s got Will Smith so it’s naturally great. However If aliens irk or scare you, stick to our next suggestion.

Wall-e (2008) - While everyone else is crying in fear, you might as well join them. Walle is a heart-breaking tale of a robot in a post apocalyptical waste land looking for companionship.

The War of the Worlds (2005) - This movie which was originally a radio programme narrated by Orson Welles already sent thousands in a frenzy when it was broadcast as a series of news bulletins.

Zombie Land (2009) - With the recent end of Twinkies, this parody zombie movie will definitely hit home. I’d tell you to stock up on Twinkies but you can’t. They don’t sell them here in the UAE, or anywhere else for that matter. The movie tells the story of a tough-guy and three youngsters crossing a zombie-filled wasteland.

If you’re just inviting people for a standard party but you want to put together the perfect Armageddon-inspired playlist, here’s the ultimate list:
