- Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias performs during the concert "Song of hope for Haiti" in Santo Domingo. Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias has confirmed Dubai date for October solo show.
Hero singer Enrique Iglesias is heading to Dubai for a solo show in October this year.
Following the disappointing news the Spanish singer, songwriter, occasional actor and always heartthrob, would not be performing alongside Jennifer Lopez at her debut Dubai show in November — given they are currently touring the US together — tabloid! can exclusively reveal things have gone full circle.
The Grammy Award-winner fancied a bit of the desert after all and will perform a solo show on October 26 at a venue which, organisers say, will likely break UAE concert records.
‘Excited’
The show will be organised by Dubai-based M4 Events, the company behind last year’s sell-out show featuring Yanni. Events director Payman Sam said Enrique was “excited” to return to the UAE after such a long time.
“This concert has been in the pipeline for some time and has taken so long as we plan to ‘wow’ with a show and venue never before seen in this part of the world. The concert will be the biggest indoor concert in the Middle East and will transform the Dubai World Trade Centre.”
Iglesias, who performed in 2004 at Dubai Media City and at a private party in 2008 in Dubai, has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling Spanish language artists of all time.
He has also tried his hand at acting, making his Hollywood debut in 2003 film Once Upon a Time in Mexico as well as television sitcom shows How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men.
UPDATE: Enrique Iglesias will be performing at the World Trade Centre Dubai on October 26. Tickets priced Dh295 (Silver), Dh550 (Gold) and Dh995 (Platinum) are available on platinumlist.net.
