English rose Ellie Goulding will headline a star-studded Sandance on December 31 at Atlantis Beach, The Palm, Dubai, helping make Dubai the place to be for this year’s New Year’s Eve.

Stereophonics and Newton Faulkner, who performed at last night’s Sundance, hadn’t even boarded aircraft back to a cold and rainy United Kingdom when the event organisers behind the now monthly music festival had lined up its next slew of international music giants.

A trio of superstar DJs — Paul van Dyk, Roger Sanchez and Zane Lowe — complete the beach-front festival line-up.

Ticket price and information will be announced in the next few days but organisers are expecting a sell-out event following last year’s NYE success featuring Above and Beyond, Roger Sanchez, Goldfish, Sister Bliss, Jonathan Ulysses and Vula.

It’s been a busy couple of years for Goulding. Lights singer Goulding has just released a new album, Halcyon and she is “incredibly proud of this record and the reaction has been over-whelming”. She spent last Christmas with the Obamas at the national Christmas tree lighting at the White House and even managed to impress Queen Elizabeth when she performed what she describes as “the biggest gig of her career”, the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. “I thought it was a joke. I didn’t think I was ACTUALLY going to play,” she said.

Grammy nominated Van Dyk continues to dominate the electronic music charts. PvD, as his fans have nicknamed him, has been ranked the world´s no 1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJs poll” twice.

A second headline international act will be announced later.
