Dubai: Filipino singing sensation and Glee star Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, popularly known as Charice, will return to Dubai for a solo concert later this year, tabloid! can exclusively reveal.

Show organiser said they have sealed the deal to host the singer on October 7 at Dubai Festival City as part of a Filipino festival which will feature parlour games and competitions for children and adults, mobile foot spas, and stalls selling Philippine-made goods and delicacies throughout the day. YouTube sensation Charice first performed in the emirate in 2009.

"We chose Charice because of her soaring popularity internationally. She is not only famous among Filipinos but other nationalities also know that Charice is Oprah's baby," Zoha Beig, CEO of Dubai-based 321 Events, told tabloid!

Currently billed as America's hottest singing teen sensation, Charice rose to fame through YouTube, where US comedien Ellen DeGeneres discovered her and invited her to perform on her show.

She was also invited as a guest by Oprah Winfrey, who called her ‘the most talented girl in the world'.

Her international popularity continued to soar when she performed with famous international artists such as Celine Dion, David Foster, David Archuleta and Iyaz. She was also cast in the second season of Glee as Sunshine Corazon, an exchange student from the Philippines who presents a serious competition against lead character Rachel Berry played by Lea Michele. The TV role further enhanced Charice's international popularity.

"She has achieved an international celebrity status and she has captured the hearts and adulation of many fans around the globe. So Charice is one of the best artists that Dubai residents want to see," added Beig.

Charice recently released her new music video for One Day, which was co-written and co-produced by American recording artist Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. She will be performing the single and several others of her songs as well as her trademark rendition of classic hits during the Dubai concert.

Tickets for ‘Charice in Dubai' will go on sale soon.
