Dubai: Some of the biggest names in Eighties music will perform at Meydan this April, as part of a global tour aimed at keeping the decade’s sound constantly in our eardrums.
The Here and Now concert in Dubai on April 7 will bring together Boy George – famous for the hit Karma Chameleon with his band Culture Club, Belinda Carlisle, who found fame with the band The Go-Gos before striking out on her own with the massive hit Heaven is a Place On Earth, as well as Paul Young, Curiosity Killed the Cat and Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
It’s part of a series started in 2001; the Dubai concert celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the Here and Now gigs.
In the run-up to the concert, the organisers promise a week of Eighties-themed events and competitions.
Ticket details will be announced shortly, the organisers, Global Event Management, said in a statement.
