Have you missed watching Avicii work his magic live? Two years since his last performance in Dubai, the 24-year-old Swedish DJ is coming back for more. On April 4, he will take the stage as the headliner of Live @ Atlantis with a line of yet-to-be-announced support acts.

Known for his high-energy performances and a youthful, innovative approach to the genre, Avicii was behind some of last year’s biggest hits, including radio favourites Wake Me Up and Hey Brother off his debut album True. And despite the producer’s young age and his limited repertoire, he has already earned a Grammy Award nomination for his hit Le7els.

When tabloid! spoke to him on his last visit to the city, he was struggling to keep up with his level of success — though it’s only become more chaotic in the years since the October 2012 appearance.

“When you’re in it and constantly touring, being in the studio and working, it’s harder to actually realise what you’ve achieved than looking at it from an outside perspective. It’s definitely a surreal thing and awesome journey so far,” he said. “I try to switch up for each show. I don’t know the crowd and I try to play different music — I have so much music that I’ve produced that I want to play.”

*Tickets for Avicii at Live @ Atlantis on April 4 are Dh250 in advance, Dh300 at the door and Dh450 for VIP. Tickets available atlantisthepalm.com and platinumlist.net. For table bookings, call 055-2004321
