Dubai: American R&B star Akon is set to return to UAE for a one-off concert on December 3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, organisers have announced.
This will be the Grammy-nominated singer, rapper and producer's fourth appearance in the city.
Akon, who is of Senegalese descent, is currently promoting his fourth album Akonic.
The Grammy-nominated singer is a multi-platinum performer, with chartbuster songs including 2004' Lonely, Smack That in 2006 and 2008's Right Now (Na Na Na).
"We are delighted to confirm that the deal to bring international music star Akon to Dubai. The concert is expected to be a lot more electrifying and sensational than the previous performances in Dubai and we promise it to be the best and the most memorable," said Rahul Bhartiya, Director of Sanguine Solutions, the organisers.
Canadian musician Bryan Adams has also been penciled in to perform at the same venue on Demcember 17.
The Akon show is scheduled to take place from 9pm at the DWTC's Saeed Hall. Tickets, priced at Dh300, Dh350, Dh550 and Dh850, tickets will soon be available on boxofficeme.com
