A conversation about Dubai nightlife will always feature a few of the city’s hotspots. But one thing guaranteed is Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s 360 will certainly be on the list.
Over the years it’s become a Dubai legend and while many have come, gone and subsequently are now buried, 360 goes from strength to strength with each passing season.
Faithful 360-ers were turned away all summer while the waterfront club underwent a few changes for the better.
The music stopped, the guest list turned in and the guys from audiotonic, famous for their chilled-out weekend tunes, found themselves jobless. But alas, the gents are back — this time with something new for everyone.
Mike Bufton, aka Mr Mr, talks us through the all-new experience which starts this Thursday at 360 with world-renowned superstar DJ Hernan Cattaneo headlining the launch.
Q. Tell us about the all new 360?
A. It’s looking out of this world. A new level of clubbing, literally. Not only do we have another floor, the entire venue has had a huge facelift and is looking super swish. I’d say it’s definitely in contention for one of the best venues in the world now.
Q. What’s one thing which has been retained in the club?
A. The sound (in terms of music). 360º is renowned for playing quality upfront music, nothing commercial, nothing cheesy, we are probably the only venue (and night) that are able to play music which you’d hear in any cutting edge venue in Europe or UK, or anywhere in the world come to think of it.
Q. Give us three new additions to the club?
A. New DJ booths - the centre piece of any venue, the new ones upstairs and downstairs are NASA worthy. The bar(s) - plenty more of them. The shiny new stairs - these are a work of art, you’ll have to come check them out to believe it.
Q. What about the music?
A. As before, the best in the city, region, without a doubt.
Q. Has the capacity increased?
A. Yes indeed. Downstairs we can now fit approximately 550 throughout the venue. When upstairs is full, guests can now come downstairs and enjoy the music as well.
Q. What can we expect from audio tonic?
A. We’ve got our biggest line up to date, launching on Friday October 12 with Miami Deep House hot property Danny Daze (upstairs), The Revenge (downstairs). Also in October Maxxi Soundsystem (Groove Armada approved DJ/Producer from Brighton), our seventh birthday party at 360, and so many more big, big names in our world - Huxley, Social Disco Club, Rodriguez Jr, Noir and many more.
Q. Any sneak peaks for famous djs this season?
A. We have so much in the pipeline. The venue will be launching officially on Thursday with Superstar DJ Hernan Cattaneo – it really doesn’t get any bigger than that.
Q. Why should people go to 360 this year?
A. Not only is it the best venue in the world, we play music from the heart, music which you won’t hear anywhere else in the city, future music, future talent, setting the benchmark in the Middle East.
