Clash of the Titans has finally landed in the UAE. But despite the impressive line-up, which includes Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, this version will most likely not be remembered by many, except for its special effects and for the fanboys, the lovely Io, played by Gemma Arterton.
While Hollywood does have a history of twisting historical material to meet certain criteria, Clash takes this habit to a whole different level. Characters and scenarios that didn't exist in the original myth and are unrelated to the entire setting of the movie will show just how much creative licence was employed by team of screenwriters. Incidentally, the title Clash of the Titans is misleading as the stories, both the 1981 and 2010 versions revolve around the myth of Perseus.
But for all its faults, Clash is still a fun way to pass 110 minutes, provided that you don't let its overall clunkiness overwhelm you.
