If Queen Elizabeth’s acting gig for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics 2012 didn’t already peak your interest about the new James Bond film, this better do it.

The first full trailer of the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, has been released globally today by Sony Pictures.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the film will see the return of Daniel Craig for his third turn as 007 and Judi Dench as M. New stars including Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Helen McCrory and Albert Finney will join the cast in the landmark film, whose release coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Bond film series. The first film Dr No, starring Sean Connery, was released in 1962.

In the preview trailer released earlier, the action mostly takes place atop a speeding train on a bridge where Bond fends off an attacker, with brief glimpses of M giving the order to the sniper Eve (Naomie Harris) to take out the bad guy.

Sony Picture’s promo reads: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Skyfall releases globally on November 9 and possibly a day earlier in the UAE.
