The plot: Fans of a bit of a scare-fest will enjoy this unsettling movie about a young woman, Sarah (Olsen) who gets trapped in her family’s secluded lake house. After heading to the retreat with her father (Trese) and uncle (Stevens), to fix it up before it’s sold on. After a row with her father, Sarah’s leaves to go and find an electrician in town, leaving them in the house alone.

After hearing mysterious noises, which they assume is the sound of people inside the house, the fatherdaughter pair head inside to investigate, but her father falls down the stairs, knocking himself unconscious. Sarah tries to leave the house, but find that all of the exists have been blocked shut and before long she’s begins to be taunted by a mystery presence and with absolutely no way to get out or contact the outside world and her panic soon gives way to terror.

The movie is made all the scarier as it’s been filmed in one, long uninterrupted shot, meaning you watch the movie in real time, making it feel like you’re living the
terrifying experience moment by moment with the character. Elizabeth Olsen totally proves that she has real acting stock in this flick and is fast emerging from her twin sisters’ shadows, just take our advice and don’t watch it if you’re planning on staying home alone any time in the near future.
