The plot: Seven Psychopaths is a maze of tangled lives and stories, centred around Marty (Farrell), a struggling writer who’s desperately trying to finish off his screenplay, which is also called Seven Psychopaths. Marty’s right-hand man is Billy (Rockwell), a struggling actor and part-time dog thief, who would do anything for his best mate. Then you have Hans (Walken), Billy’s partner in crime, a religious man with a violent past. The movie takes a dark turn when the pair ‘dognap’ a pooch to score a small ransom, but this dog just happens to belong to psychopathic gangster Charlie (Harrelson), who is extremely violent, incredibly unpredictable and will do just about anything to get his beloved shih-tzu back. All of the drama gives Marty the inspiration he needs for his screenplay, but will he even live to tell the tale? You might get lost in various story lines at times along the way, but the movie’s so funny you’ll desperately want to keep up with the morbid humour. We loved it.
