The UAE-based steel trader who swapped his business to pursue acting is reaping benefits from his radical career move.

Taaha Shah, who was born in Abu Dhabi and ran a steel trading business in Dubai, has bagged a role in director J.P. Dutta yet-to-be-titled production. “I feel truly blessed to be associated with J.P. Dutta sir’s production. It is a dream come true for a newcomer like me to be given a chance to work with a legend known for his cinematic excellence,” said Shah in a statement.

The venture will also serve as a launch vehicle for the director’s daughter, Nidhi Dutta, and son of actress Nafisa Ali, Ajit Sodhi. The film, directed by Binoy Gandhi and produced under J.P. Dutta’s production house, revolves around three close friends and their bond.

“Taaha was the obvious choice for the role. With his raw energy and spot on timing, he fit the part to the T,” said Gandhi in a statement.

Apart from this film, Shah who studied at Sharjah’s School of Choueifat and completed Grade 12 at Sharjah American International School, is also working on three other films.
