As it turns out, Ivan was also Victoria's former lover, with the Cold War keeping them apart. But the now-widowed Victoria, in her guise as classy killer, has a second chance at love.

In the video game that pre-dated the movie, Mona's shown to not quite live up to the cold-blooded killer image she projects, after she cops a bullet herself as punishment for violating orders to kill Max.

Mai infiltrates the Eastern States' power station, where she runs into John McClane who kills her, telling Gabriel, "Mai? Little Asian chick, likes to kick people? I don't think she's gonna be talkin' to anybody for a really long time."
