Magdi Ahmad Ali, director of Khaltat Fawzia (Fawzia's Special Blend), came all the way to Abu Dhabi to watch his movie with MEIFF audience.

"I have not seen the movie yet and I'm glad to watch it with this multi-cultural audience and pass on its humanitarian message," he said on Friday.

Actor Fat'hy Abdul Wahab, who looked smart casual and happy, said: "I'm looking forward to watch the film with a hope to win a prize."

Actress Hala Sedki came with a big smile. "This movie is very important. It is a mix of drama and comedy," she said.

Superstar Elham Shaheen could not hide her excitement and said, "I can't describe my feelings now. I'm happy and worried."

The famous TV presenter Hala Sarhan also walked the red carpet, "I congratulate the film team on their achievement. Especially the big star, Elham Shaheen, who insisted to produce the film and tell a story to every body."

MEIFF boasts the largest purse for film festival prizes in the world at over Dh3.67 million in prizes. The Black Pearl awards are meant to recognise filmmakers for their artistic contributions to the medium.
