Mamas is ready with ‘Cinema Company’

Director Mamas introduces nine newcomers in his second film titled, Cinema Company. Produced by Fareed Khan with music by Alphons Joseph and cinematography by Jibu Jacob, it stars Bhadri, Basil, Sanjeev, Sruthi, Nithin Paul, Sanam, Swasika, Shibila, Lakshmi, Baburaj and Lalu Alex.

“This is a story of three young men and a woman — all cinema buffs and the bond they share,” says Mamas, who has written the script.

“They while away their time discussing films. A situation in their lives prompts them into making a film. It is about their dreams and the struggles they go through,” continues the director who earlier directed PaappiAppacha.

The cast has been selected after an audition that was conducted across five cities.

“Subsequently we had a 10-day workshop to help them overcome their inhibitions about facing the camera,” explains Mamas who started off as an animation artist in the industry before assisting directors such as I.V. Sasi and duo Rafi-Mecartin.

“Working with newcomers was a challenge,” agrees the 30-year-old.

“I found strength in my script and my team,” adds Mamas who chased his childhood dream of entering the celluloid world.

“My film will appeal to the young and to family members too.”

Comedian Vivek’s ‘Go Green’ project:

Comedian Vivek does his bit for the environment through a campaign on tree planting. Inspired and guided by Dr A.P.J.Kalam, he has already planted more than 1,300,000 trees.

Talking about the project known as ‘Green Kalam Project,’ Vivek says, “Though I was given a target of 10,00,000 by Dr Abdul Kalam, we were able to achieve this feat due the awareness and cooperation of the public and school children. I must make special mention of my friend Murugan and Mullaivanam of ‘Tree Bank’ without whose help we wouldn’t have travelled this far.

I have been getting excellent reviews on my performance in Murratu Kalai and it gives me immense satisfaction to have a successful professional and social image”.
