Who's in it? Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Robert De Niro, Yvonne Strahovski, Dominic Purcell

The plot Danny (Statham) is an assassin who's been assigned a complex hit job in Mexico. Seconds after he and his mentor, Hunter (de Niro), pull it off, Danny freezes when he realises there was a child in the target's car - just enough time for him to catch a bullet in the shoulder. Left so shaken and disturbed by the event that he swears off being a gun for hire, after a year, Danny is unwillingly dragged back into the game when an exiled oil baron takes Hunter hostage and says he will only release him when Danny hunts down and kills the British SAS members he says are responsible for the deaths of his three sons. But when Danny accepts the job, his arrangement isn't taken kindly by a shady organisation called The Feather Men - made up of former SAS soldiers, who send their own man, Spike (Owen), along to take Danny out.

What we liked A movie with Robert de Niro, Jason Statham and Clive Owen covers all the bases we need for a slick action thriller - boasting the legend, the action man and the velvet-voiced eye candy talent. With its strong action sequences, Statham shines in a role he was clearly born to play, while Clive is suitably all British and detached as befitting an ex-SAS man. Plus, Bob with a machine gun? It's been too long since we saw that!

What we didn't like It could have used a bit more build-up.
