Hong Kong awards to honour Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan

- Amitabh Bachchan has appeared in more than 100 movies in a career spanning four decades.
Hong Kong: The Hong Kong International Film Festival plans to honour Indian screen legend Amitabh Bachchan with a lifetime achievement award at the event's Asian Film Awards.
Organisers said in a statement late on Friday the 67-year-old actor will accept the award in person at the annual prize ceremony on March 22.
Bachchan has appeared in more than 100 movies in a career spanning four decades. His recent credits include The Last Lear, Sarkar Raj and Paa.
Festival director Shaw Soo Wei said Bachchan left a mark on world cinema "with tremendous talent, a rigorous work ethic and an uncanny ability to reinvent himself."
Organisers will also present Chinese director Zhang Yimou with an award for outstanding contributions to Asian cinema.
