The Plot This is it! The big, grand, sharp-fanged, neck-bitten finale to end all vampire finales… well, part one of it, anyway. For the two people left on the planet who haven’t yet read and become instantly hooked on Stephenie Meyer’s vampire tale, Breaking Dawn sees Edward Cullen (Pattinson) finally get his wish to marry the love of his life, Bella Swan (Stewart) – despite an age gap between them that would make Hugh Hefner blush. With Jacob’s (Lautner) pleas falling on deaf ears, Bella walks down the aisle with Edward, sealing her fate with the Volturi, who aren’t happy that a human has wandered into their highly secretive world.

Amid warnings that Bella must be turned into a vampire or die, the pair jet off to South America on their honeymoon to Isle Esme – bought for his wife by Carlisle Cullen – and set about breaking headboards and biting pillows in the scene that Twi-hards have been waiting their entire lives for. But their blissful island vacation is cut short, when Bella realises she’s pregnant. And with the growth rate of half-vampire, half-human babies way less than the usual nine months, Edward soon realises that going through with the birth will kill his beloved. Insisting on keeping the baby, Bella enlists her family frenemy, Rosalie Hale, who has long wished for, but been unable to have a baby of her own, and whose support puts her at loggerheads with the out-of-his-mind-with-worry Edward. But Bella’s pregnancy doesn’t just affect the newlyweds, with Jacob and Alice calling an uneasy truce, Bella’s dad, Charlie slowly starting to realise something’s up with the pale-faced Cullen clan, and the Volturi and various covens drawing closer for the ultimate vampire battle… which you’ll have to wait for part two to see!
