Indian Premier League matches may be taking over the TV screens this month, but that hasn't stopped some Bollywood filmmakers from carrying on their business on the big screen.

On Friday, actor-turned-producer John Abraham will head to Dubai to promote his debut production Vicky Donor.

Abraham will have a packed day filled with press interviews, an appearance at the Pulse Nightclub at Movenpick Hotel and an interaction with special-needs children at Kobe Sizzlers in Karama.

"His visit is planned to create awareness about his film that will release a week later," said Fathima Hayat, Marketing Director of Xcellence Events, who with Essar Events, are organisers of Abraham's visit.

Billed as a love story set against the backdrop of infertility and sperm donation, the film,  which releases on April 19, has TV actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.

The Bollywood action doesn't end here. On May 2, Emraan Hashmi will head to Dubai to premiere his latest thriller Jannat 2.

Starring new face Esha Gupta and Randeep Hooda, the film explores the murky world of arms trading.

"There will be a red carpet call, a mall visit and an after party. But we are yet to decide on the details. We will have a clear picture by the end of the week," said Rashid Saaed of Essar Events, one of the organisers of the premiere.
