"To bring balance to the force." That is the prophecy that a small boy called Anakin Skywalker had to turn into fact — with his life.

A ten-year-old boy without any knowledge of his enormous abilities, young Anakin would become the centre of all the mythology hidden in Star Wars, the story that almost 30 years ago changed the way to see and produce fiction movies.
Anakin was discovered on the planet Tatooine by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, who was convinced that, with the arrival of Anakin, the old Jedi prophecy would be fulfilled. The prophecy said that "a chosen one would bring balance to the force".
But who was Anakin before he was found? The birth of Anakin is uncertain. His mother, Shmi, said that the boy had not been conceived by a father. For that reason the legend claims that Anakin was conceived by the Force itself.
When nine years old, Anakin and his mother were enslaved as property of Watto, a cruel Toydarian junk dealer. The boy already showed a great ability for the engineering and handling of technology. Anakin was able to repair any damaged ship and was the only human able to handle a Pod Racer, a vehicle that reaches extreme speeds.
When Qui-Gon found Anakin, he discovered that the boy had the highest count of midi-chlorians (a measure of force-aptitude) known at that time, even higher than the Master Yoda, one of the more powerful Jedis.
Destiny came for Anakin when the little boy found not only Qui-Gon Jinn, but also the young Naboo Queen Padmé Amidala, with whom the small boy had a great empathy, despite their age difference. Amidala was fourteen years old.
"One day you'll marry me", Anakin professed. And he was not mistaken. This encounter would change the future of the galaxy.
